As of New Year's Day, Telluride has enacted it's ban on plastic bags in its stores. Paper bags will now be 10-cents, and plastic bags will be phased out fully by March 1. Long heralded by a local environmentalist, the ban got new wind with local Suzan Beraza's film "Bag It" starring Jeb Berrier.

What to do with all those plastic bags? Recycle them to boxes outside Village Market, Clark's and inside Montrose's City Market and Safeway.
