Standing in line at the Post Office yesterday, I got to talking about the love for Stroller Blankets - especially the JJ Cole we were given as a baby shower present two years ago. I had mentioned that upon receiving it, I had thought "Hm, how nice." And now it's turned into one of the most important things we have for bambino! We've even extended it by using large safety pins to lower the back to fit year 1-2.
Once that chill comes in the air - usually during the Telluride Film Festival - we all start searching for our winter stroller blanket. Some never take it off - I actually left the bottom piece on all summer for a cushion on our BOB.
After the convo yesterday, I got to thinking about all those great stroller blankets that are out there, and what was available once they pass the 2 year old mark and grow out of the beloved JJ Cole. Here's some ideas:
Despite the price (around $199, or $189 on Amazon), the 7AM Enfant Blanket 212 Evolution (above) works from birth to 4 years, being functional and stylish at the same time. The zippered extensions allow the blanket to grow with your baby, and the weatherproof outside keeps your child warm and safe.
If you have a lovely Maclaren, look into the Maclaren Universal Foot Muff. The foot muff has a fleece lining, and you apparently can close the stroller without removing the blanket. Having said this, you have to have a Maclaren - quite an investment here in Telluride.
If I had to purchase one myself, I'd go for the $98 JJ Cole Arctic Bundle Me (and I'm also eyeing the Urban version - looks very roomy).
As mentioned, we received the Original Shearling Lined BundleMe (can't beat the price - $40, or color selection) as a baby shower present, we use it every day, and as mentioned, have extended it to fit our 1-2 year old. Apparently it now comes in a Toddler Version (years 1-3). I'll be looking into that next winter!
And if you have a BOB, check out the Warm Fuzzy. You still need another blanket, but would work great in the spring/summer. The beauty of the others mentioned is how they zip together, creating a mini sleeping-bag of warmth for your little one.
